Vetus consider requirements such as environmental protection, reliability, durability, fuel efficiency and low-vibration operation absolutely essential. In all cases, the smallest possible installation sizes, excellent power-to-weight-ratio and a good accessibility of serviceable components are central features. All Vetus Diesel engines are fresh-water cooled and may also be supplied for keel-cooling.
The Vetus Diesel range includes two cylinder engines (11hp, 13hp, 16hp), a three cylinder engine (27hp) and four cylinder engines (33hp, 42hp, 52hp, 65hp, 80hp). The new VF Series engines (140hp, 170hp, 220hp, 250hp) are ultramodern and compact and designed for conventional or sterndrive applications.
The Vetus Deutz range features four cylinder engines (80hp, 114hp, 140hp) and six cylinder engines (170hp, 210hp, 231hp, 286hp).

Three two-cylinder engines feature in the Vetus line-up. The M2.C5 is an 11hp unit which is lower revving (3000rpm) and quieter then other engines in its class. The 13hp M2.D5 and 16hp M2.06 are similarly market-leading engines with its twin cylinders for smoother running, indirect cooling for long life and a Mitsubishi base engine for dependability... is it worth scrimping when you can buy Vetus superiority?

Vetus' only 3-cylinder engine, the 27hp M3.28 is based on the dependable Mitsubishi L-series block and, like all Vetus diesel engines is supplied with control panel, engine mounts and panel wiring harness.

The Mitsubishi-based M4.15 (33hp) and M4.17 (42hp) are top sellers: their smooth, slow (3000rpm) and quiet running, compact size and simple design means low fuel consumption and lower running costs.The new M4.55 is a turbocharged version, producing 52hp, yet with improved fuel efficiency. The VH4-65 and the VH4-80 are based on a Hyundai-Mitsubishi block and are modern units at a class-leading price.

All yellow Vetus marine diesel engines may be supplied with a sail drive. Two transmission rations (2.23:1 and 2.49:1) have been selected to match engine power and speed to propeller size, with identical ratios both ahead and astern. This feature is ideal for twin-engine installations such as a catamaran, with one left-hand and one right-hand propeller.

The Deutz-based DT4.29 (83hp) is oil-cooled, which means low emssions, better fuel economy, excellent thermal efficiency and almost no seawater-induced corrosion. The larger DT44 (114hp) and DTA44 (140hp) are based on well-proven Deutz engines and have been marinised by Vetus to bring the optimum in reliability and efficiency.

The DT66 (170hp) and DTA66 (210hp) are based on proven Deutz engines and are the perfect power unit for anything from a fast fishing boat to a large yacht. Together with the DT67 (231hp) and the DTA67 (286hp), these really are the thoroughbreds of the Vetus stable!

Vetus Diesel engines are supplied with engine control panel, wiring harness and engine mounts. Control panels are described in the table below and may be upgraded at additional cost. Please note that although upgrade from the MP10 panel to the MP34 is possible, we do not recommend this.
