VETUS ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

At first glance, you might think that electricity and water don't mix but as long as they don't get together, having power at your fingertips can be very useful!

The conventional approach to boat electrics is either 12v or 24v power and this is well catered for by Vetus with 12v batteries up to 165Ah as well all the accessories you are likely to need, including cables, switches and terminal sets.

In the modern world, there is much more use of household electrical appliances and thus the requirement to use an onboard power supply is greater.

ABC Powermarine also suppply Vetus battery chargers, 24v-12v converters, standard battery chargers, diode splitters and a battery watch for 2 or 3 batteries.

Batteries

All Vetus batteries are maintenance free and sufficient electrolyte for their whole life: this means no topping-up and as a result the casing is completely sealed with the exception of a flame-proof vent. Please note that we are unable to supply batteries by mail order.

Selector switch	175A	The famous Vetus battery master switch with rotary series switch. Allows use of either or both of two batteries. The switch enables using and charging of the batteries, both individually and in parallel connection. Also acts as a battery isolator switch for both batteries (battery banks).
Battery switch	75A / 100A / 250A / 600A	Battery main switch for connection to either the positive or the negative electric cable. two positions: "on" and "off". In the "off" position, the key may be removed (except 600A version).
Battery cables	35mm / 50mm / 70mm / 95mm / 120mm / 150mm	Battery cables (measured by cross sectional area). Neoprene-rubber insulating jacket with multi-strand copper core. Cable tags are available for all sizes as well as terminal sets for cable sizes up to 95mm.

Item	Description
Battery watch	The Vetus battery watch controls 3 separate battery banks and ensures that all three are being charged simultaneously by the alternator or battery charger. It is supplied with a remote control panel which indicates the voltage of the three batteries and will trigger an alarm if the battery voltage drops too low.
Diode Splitter	This unit splits the charging circuit from the alternator to supply two or three batteries and is rated for a 125Amp current. It is available in 12v and 24v versions.
