VETUS FUEL SYSTEMS

ABC Powermarine are able to supply the complete fuel system for your boat, right through from the deck filler cap, through the tank and water separator to the engine.

Vetus rigid fuel tanks are manufactured of Linear Polythene and they are much less liable to explode than metal tanks and there is no possibility of rust formation. The fuel level can be seen from the outside; the most reliable check there is! Flexible spare tanks for diesel fuel are available, providing that extra capacity which means extra cruising range.

Before delivery to the engine, the fuel should be filtered through a water separator: one small drop of water may cause blockage of the fuel pump, cutting off the fuel supply. Water may also be the cause of rust in the pump or the injectors, resulting in blockage and expensive repairs. A Vetus water separator / fuel fiter is therefore certainly no luxury, but a necessity.

Rigid Fuel Tanks

These tanks can be ordered with a choice of three connection kits which include an aluminium cover, 38mm/50mm filler, 16mm vent connector, blind cover for fuel sender, return fuel line fitting and fuel supply connector for 8mm, 10mm or 15mm. A tank interconnection kit is also available which allows twin tank installation.

Flexible Fuel Tanks

These tanks are supplied as standard with a 38mm filling connector, a 25mm discharge fitting and a 16mm breather nipple. They can be supplied with a filling kit, comprising 2m of 38mm filler hose, deck filler cap, 2m of 25mm hose, 2m of 16mm hose for ventilation, airvent and all necessary hose clamps.

Fuel Filters / Water Separators

Four models of fuel filter are available, which also double as water separators: maximum water separation is more than 90% and together with the engine's primary fuel filter, a total water separation of 99% is achieved.
